In response to my initial exploration into compulsion at Ladbroke Grove, I started to transfer this into physical work. Painting is a medium that has always come naturally to me which is why I chose it to reflect this theme. When creating this work I used the same compulsive attitude that I did with my photos at Ladbroke Grove, impulsively selecting colours and techniques. Working this way gave me results that came almost completely out of my subconscious which is the result I hoped for as this analysis of compulsive behaviour is my area of exploration; what we are capable of and what experiences we may have when we allow our subconscious to control our actions.

I am really pleased with my paintings and surprised with how different each response turned out. From this response to compulsion I want to further this and consider ways of creating work focussing on the other subtexts of insanity I identify.
